Our Client is seeking a Mechanical Assembler in Aston, PA.
This is a full-time, temp-to-hire position. Work 40 plus hours per week, Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Must be able to work overtime and weekends.
Job Description:
Level 1:
- Maintain a safe, neat and orderly work area
- Perform daily clean-up of area and equipment
- Required to have proper and accurate entry into the data collection system
- Responsible for the organized storage, installation, nd maintenance of all tooling used in the fabrication area
- Correctly identify and utilize proper tooling that will produce quality parts
- Verify conformance of workpiece to specifications using calipers, square, rules and measuring tape
- Check own work and compare with approved drawings, request first piece approvals as well as final inspection on parts produced
- Operate fabricating machines including but not limited to presses, saws, rolls, routers and drill presses
- Assist other departments and perform other related or non-related duties as assigned
Level 2:
- All of the above listed responsibilities and below
- Set up and operate a variety of machines
- Develop layout and plan sequence of operations, applying knowledge of tolerances set forth by engineered drawings
- Design, construct and document templates, jigs and fixtures
Level 3:
- All of the above listed responsibilities and the below
- Train Level 1 and 2 employees when directed
- Calculate flat patterns, inspect parts in the flat and identify and troubleshoot any program issues in communication with the engineer
- Fabricate and assemble products out of raw stock material while complying with engineered drawings
- Perform basic operations and make good use of machine tools associated with fabricating shops including but not limited to radial arms, bridgeports and lathes
- Work with Assembly to accomplish basic tasks including but not limited to stenciling, sealing and fastening
- Conduct First Piece Inspections for department as required
- Meet and maintain Level 3 qualifications
- Troubleshoot and solve problems as needed for level 1 and 2 employees
- Provide input to supervision into performance evaluations for Level 1 and 2 employees
- As needed, complete the duties of the department Lead or Mentor
Requirements:
Level 1 Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience
- Able to meet goals and objectives under direct supervision
- Basic understanding of Blue Prints and processes
- Use power tools
- Identify and install hardware
Level 2 Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years experience
- Able to meet goals and objectives under general supervision
- General understanding of Blue Prints and understands the majority of processes/equipment in the department
Level 3 Requirements:
- 7 to 10 years of experience
- Able to meet goals and objectives under minimal supervision
- Expert understanding of Blue Prints and all processes/equipment in the department
General Requirements:
- Must wear PPE to prevent exposure to hazardous materials
- Must wear safety glasses, durable pants, and steel-toed shoes/boots
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Skills:
- Prints and layouts certification
- High school diploma or GED
- Fork lift training
