JOB DESCRIPTION


Summary/Objective 
We are looking for an IT manager to be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of our computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines. You will supervise the implementation and maintenance of our company’s computing needs. You will plan, coordinate, direct and design IT-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department. You will participate and/or coordinate IT activities across functional areas, outside agencies, consultants, and vendors. You will also oversee existing IT staff and build a robust and unique team to sustain a corporate wide growth.

Essential Functions

  1. Lead the IT department’s operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
  2. Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including telecommunications, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, peripherals and Office Automation equipment.
  3. Benchmark, analyze, report on and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
  4. Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
  5. Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
  6. Staying knowledgeable of technology advances, trends and issues and evaluating them for organizational relevance
  7. Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
  8. Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing and service provision.
  9. Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer and consultant contracts and service agreements.
  10. Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree.

Six years of related work experience.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

Relevant management experience.

Able to translate "tech talk" into a format that can be understood by those who are not comfortable with technical language

Courteously, reliably and quickly provide support to end users both over the phone and in person following established protocols for troubleshooting and resolution.

ServiceNow or ManageEngine

Visio

Layer 3 switch management (Cisco, Aruba)
