Pay Range: $88,840.00 to $142,144.00

The City of Fort Worth IT Solutions Team is seeking a Manager with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business or a related Information Technology field and five (5) years of increasing responsible experience in communications, security and/or computer operations, including two (2) years of administrative and supervisory responsibility.  A good candidate for this full-time position would possess excellent time management skills, a passion for building and maintaining a highly-available network, and a drive for continuous improvement.  Must be able to pass a CJIS background check.

The Impact You’ll Have:

The Platform Technology Manager will lead the Platform Tech team in managing server-storage-AD-related services including but not limited to server technology, storage technology, AD and related services, Share Point, PIR process, Virtualization, Certificate Management.  Act as a liaison to other departments, representing the Platform Services teams, and will coordinate technical efforts related to the implementation and support of Platform Technology-related services and management.  This highly motivated individual reports to the Senior IT Solutions Manager – Infrastructure and will be responsible for the development and maintenance of technical reporting of KPIs including, but not limited to, infrastructure capacity planning, workforce utilization, project deliverable tracking, SOP development, and SLA (Service Level Agreement) performance.

The goal of the Platform Technology Manager is to lead the delivery of Platform Technology-related services for internal and external customers, as well as our citizens. They will be responsible for interfacing with all city organizations to provide management oversight, planning, and execution in the delivery of highly-available Server, Storage and AD Services.

Candidates should be able to demonstrable background with server technology, storage systems, networking both as a hands-on person as well as in a managerial capacity, display exceptionally good problem-solving skills and collate and present solutions/mitigation strategies in a constructive fashion.  The candidate must have experience planning, developing, and leading technical support organizations in large scale enterprise environments.  Project management experience would be invaluable.  Experience with Windows Administration, Office 365, Dell Compellent, ISILON, UCS, VMWare, converged and hyper converged data center architecture technology platforms are highly preferred.

Management responsibilities revolve around the understanding and managing customer requirements, deliverables, milestones, work closely with both customers and project management office on deliverables, technical resource management, recommending architectural changes as needed, explaining issues and solutions to the senior management, maintaining track of technology – upgrades and life of infrastructure.  Manage vendor operations.  Some financial and contractual planning work may be required.  Mentoring, career pathing, and the development of individual contributors through continuous feedback is critical.
