· Supervision of Skilled employees and production equipment Maintenance.

· Prismatic machining process engineering development role.

· Learning how to execute pre-production programs through alpha, beta and gamma build phases.

· Leads each new program build phase through Key Indicator Report (KIR) timing for equipment programs, fixtures and tooling.

· Works collaboratively with Product Engineering, Central Manufacturing Engineering and others to address build issues and ensure BOP/BOE requirements are met for Pre-Production Operations.

· Exercises technical direction over support personnel, including OEM’s, tool design/build suppliers and installation trades.

· Maintains daily contact with engineering functions as programs are developed finalized and put into production.

· Provides technical direction to and oversight of outside tool vendors in the design and build of assembly tooling and fixtures

· Works with machining equipment suppliers in the programming and preparation of test equipment for new programs

· Work may involve development and testing of advanced manufacturing process technology

· Implements engineering changes as driven by product requirements

· Defines system requirements for machining equipment

· Works with engineering functions, suppliers, plant personnel and others to implement cost reduction, methods and product improvements, and to support build programs

· Communicates information to and from internal and external customer organizations

· Coordinates and consults with outside departments including product engineering and manufacturing engineering

· Stays abreast of new manufacturing technology, competitive products, and latest techniques

· Develops and refines PFMEAs and Control Plans to support defect prevention in PPO

· Manages procurement, design, run-off, installation, and release of capital equipment in support of pre-production machining operations.

· Responsible for project timing and milestones.

· Works closely with multi-disciplined teams to understand functional requirements, contributes to generation of innovative ideas, develops project plans and implements appropriate solutions

· Supports and interacts with manufacturing operations personnel.

· Coaches and supports operations teams in the use of tools to achieve productivity, quality and safety targets.

· Assists in establishing operational methods and work standards using various measurement techniques.

· Analyzes existing operations and proposes process improvements.

· Optimizes use of floor space, materials, and equipment.

· The person will have a morning collaboration meeting with the entire cross-functional team, so they should be able to communicate with the team.

· Prototype build for product engineer.

· Develop program fixtures tool.

· Auto cad.

· 2-d prints, 3D math.

· Work with programmers.

· Tooling.

· Running parts.

· Reading inspection reports.

· Sign off on quality and/or work on issues.

· Product engineering.

· Collaboration with quality and operation.

· Involved in development of process.

· 3/4 working on issues due in future time.

· 1/2 up front engineering.

· Support buying new tooling.

· Equipment upgrade.

· Working up front most of time, supporting day to day sometimes.

· Flex between office time and day to day plant floor.

Requirements

·         Looking For Prismatic Engineering.

·         Cylinder head/block experience.

·         Must be able to work in a team environment.

·         Person will be collaborating with CNC programmers, CMM Inspection, Operations and Tooling support folks.

·         Should have some leadership qualities as well..

·         Our work can go in waves, where we are highly loaded, then a period of lighter loading, so the person doesn’t have to be energetic all the time..

·         There will be periods of time that we are getting very close to the delivery date and will need to be focused on..

·         Bachelor’s degree in equivalent field of engineering (ex. Non tech degree- would need to see tech experience- auto cad, etc.).

·         7-8 years tech experience.

·         NX or CAD experience – To open 2D prints and 3D math of the products.

·         Process knowledge on cutting cylinder blocks and/or cylinder heads.

·         Tooling and/or fixture knowledge on how to fixture/cut cylinder blocks/heads.
