Job Description

Security Officer

Performs dispatch, guard, and administrative duties to assist in the protection of life and property. Perform duties in accordance with federal and state law and Center rules and regulations in order to maintain safety of students and staff. Patrol buildings and ground to ensure the safety and physical security of buildings and property. Check identification of personnel seeking entrance to or exit from grounds and permit or deny entrance or exit according to established policies and procedures. Assist in the transportation needs of the Center. Cultivate and maintain a climate on center that is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.

Job Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, as well as two years related experience

  • An associate's degree in criminal justice is desirable and may be substituted for experience

  • Must be able to work evenings or overnight shift, as well as weekends

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Competitive wage with shift differential
