Prompt Care is a convenient healthcare clinic currently seeking a part-time registered nurse. This position will work 16-24 hours / week which will include Wednesdays.  This person will direct and/or coordinate daily patient care activities. Ensures adherence to established clinical policies, protocols, regulations, and standards. Develops, monitors and evaluates treatment plans and progress.

Essential Functions:

  • Patient Care / Relationships: Performs general intake, takes and receives patient phone calls. Answers patient’s questions and disseminates concerns to doctor, as needed. Performs medical tests on patients to test for various health conditions. Tests may be done on blood, urine, etc. Recommends treatment plans. Counsels individuals and patients on positive health practices and recommends various nursing practices. Prepares patient records. Renders service to patients in a competent, professional and ethical manner and in accordance with prevailing standards of practice established by applicable federal, state and local licensing or accrediting agencies and bodies and professional associations.
  • Participation and Development - Keeps informed of new nursing trends and practices. Must work independently and as a team. This position will be the voice of the clinic and will continually seek new and better ways to grow the clinic. Assists ARNP with medical procedures as needed.

General Requirements: Describes the minimum education and experience, certifications, licenses, and skill sets needed to perform the job.

Maintains CPR licensure and a valid and unrestricted Iowa Registered Nurse license. Nursing experience is required. Must be compassionate and display a high level of integrity and dependability. Must exhibit effective communication skills and ability to interact verbally and in writing with people of diverse backgrounds. Must be detail oriented and well organized. Promotes safety and displays best practices and techniques to provide positive and ongoing patient care.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Describes the mental, physical demands and working conditions needed to perform the job.

Exceptionally strong interpersonal verbal and written skills with ability to prioritize responsibilities and adapt to changes in daily tasks when necessary. Ability to assess the specific needs of patients. Prepares and maintains patient records, writes reports and responds to correspondence. Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Physical requirements such as: full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination is required. Seeing and hearing; reading documents and computer screen, answering phone, communicating in person, sitting, standing and walking, reaching and bending, stooping and lifting up to 50 pounds. Must be flexible and accommodating to go above and beyond the basic expectations when required
