Job Description

Our Farmers Insurance agency is expanding and seeking a Insurance Sales Representative to help support all aspects of an agency’s daily office operations. We deal with a variety of regulatory and confidential issues, candidates must be detail oriented and able to complete tasks in a timely manner. Individual must have a professional appearance & excellent communication skills. No insurance experience required however individual must have the following attributes:

Insurance Sales Representative Responsibilities:

  • Directly contributes to and supports sales goals of the agency. This includes new business, cross-sell opportunities, customer service, retention, and profit goals.
  • Solicits and writes new business while conforming to all state laws, policies and procedures.
  • Calling and visiting clients and prospects on a daily basis and meeting expected volume of solicitations.
  • Provides underwriting for new accounts. Maintains knowledge of new products and initiatives
  • Develops agency relationships with existing clients and works to cross sell additional policies to those clients.
  • Meets the production requirements and goals assigned by the agency. This includes maintaining accurate monthly prospecting and sales records.
  • Travel locally to meet with clients and prospects at their homes or offices as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Insurance Sales Representative Requirements:

  • College degree preferred but not required.
  • Previous insurance agency experience highly preferred.
  • Outgoing personality – enjoy engaging and talking to people.
  • Enjoys being on a team and contributing to the success of others
  • Self motivated and systems oriented
  • Willing to make mistakes and a desire to improve
  • Positive and encouraging personality
  • A willingness to learn new things, be flexible and take ownership of our mission
  • Community minded
  • Comfortable dealing with high a high volume of outbound and inbound phone activity.
  • Basic PC skills, basic math skills, strong analytical capability, conflict resolution skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

License:

  • Must be willing to obtain a P&C (Property & Casualty) or Group 1 (Life) license
