Job Summary:

The Collaboration Technical Lead provides strategic oversight, design, technical guidance, and education to help drive the modernized technical vision of the Collaboration tool suite, improves T1/T2 operations through
automation/integration/streamlined processes, and provides end user training to drive end user understanding/adoption. This role is critical in understanding our current collaboration tool investment, identifying strategic investment opportunities, and presenting clear, outcome-driven business cases to IT leadership. This role serves as the foremost Collaboration expert, with unbiased understanding of the complex and shifting hybrid work environment coupled with innate stakeholder/end-user curiosity and IT operations understanding. This role partners with engineering teams, IT leaders, and business stakeholders to drive the Collaboration solutions to our company. They act as the hands-on leader and teacher to coach and upskill engineers to modernize our Collaboration solutions. The Collaboration Technical Lead is responsible for the analysis, design, and execution of secure, integrated collaboration solutions that provide clear, tangible benefits to the business. Ultimately, the successful candidate has a strong commitment to drive value to stakeholders, has breadth of knowledge across the Collaboration technical landscape, is deeply outcome driven, and is passionate about cultivating an innovative, high trust, working environment

Key Responsibilities:

This role is expected to fully grasp the concepts behind navigating and integrating a diverse suite of Collaboration tools with a keen eye toward understand the evolving trends on remote work, hybrid work, and IT operational processes. This individual is accountable for identifying opportunities to streamline our collaboration offerings to the business, optimize our tool usage/investment, provide solutions to reduce operational manual toil and improve operational resolution for end-users. Additionally, this role is critical in upskilling team members in areas of technical expertise and assisting in talent acquisition.

  • Define and publish secure collaboration platform standards and ensure compliance with security controls when designing such standards
  • Critical thinking and analysis of collaboration tools is essential, as this role will have the responsibility of designing collaboration solutions, automations, and integrations that streamline business processes, reduce operational churn, and improve end user engagement
  • Enable and support T0 Self-Service automation designs, develop citizen developer programs to maximize end user self-service
  • Develop long range vision of collaboration landscape with clear-eyed understanding of shifting hybrid work trends and critical integration/automation opportunities while balancing operational spend and costs of investment
  • Drive innovation, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across engineering teams
  • Drive innovation of new solution and integration-level patterns, tools, and practices, managing risk and controlling technology sprawl
  • Contribute to talent acquisition and upskilling in area of expertise

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft O365, Slack, Atlassian, and ServiceNow platforms, with an eye for automation and integration opportunities
  • Understanding of industry market trends and opportunities
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices which incorporate continuous integration and design practices and testing
  • Experience in implementing and operating platform services solutions
  • Experience with business case development and stakeholder management
  • Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years as technical architect or engineer
  • Proven leadership/influence style, customer-service oriented demeanor, problem-solving, effective reporting via metrics and indicators, and strong communications are all essential to this role
  • Highly technical and analytical expertise, with a proven deep background in technology design, implementation, and delivery
  • This individual must be comfortable developing metrics, analysis, and quantitative/qualitative evidence when necessary to drive outcomes/prove value
  • Demonstrated understanding of good software design/architecture principles
  • Demonstrated coaching/teaching skills for teams and individuals. Proven ability to navigate difficult conversations to achieve necessary strategic outcome for business
  • Ability to work independently, plan, and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
  • Mindset to continuously improve the technical knowledge of engineering partners
  • Focus on continual self-improvement to maintain expertise in technical area
  • The Tech lead will engage with Engineering leaders, Administrators, Engineers, and stakeholders to understand critical needs of business to design streamlined, strategic technical vision to improve end user usage/adoption
  • Usually functions with high autonomy; require occasional guidance
  • Requires a high level of initiative and deep curiosity in service platforms, remote work/hybrid work industry trends
  • Provides technical guidance and strategic consultation to engineering teams
  • Sponsors or facilitates Communities of Practice and Citizen Development programs
  • Influences technical decision making at all levels across multiple teams
  • Reports directly to the Senior Manager, IT Collaboration
  • Demonstrated experience with geographically distributed teams in a matrixed environment
