Court TV DP/Video Journalist

Job Summary

Court TV, the iconic cable network, is back and is looking for DP/Video Journalists. The candidate will work closely with field producers in shooting trials and taking viewers outside the four walls of the courtroom by shooting b-roll and conducting interviews.

Responsibilities

  • Setup, breakdown, and operate television broadcast camera(s) and audio equipment in a courtroom.
  • Setup and light on-site live shots
  • Light, shoot, mic intimate interviews; Documentary style ENG
  • Extensive travel

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as DP, with experience in News
  • Minimum of 3 years live news network experience
  • A strong technical understanding of C300m2 and DSLR style cameras. Robotic camera experience a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of LED lighting techniques and ability to successfully implement those techniques
  • Advise on gear purchases and work with/lead team responsible for equipment maintenance
  • Extensive video production workflow expertise
  • Ability to multitask, be flexible in approach, and remain calm in a fast paced, deadline driven work environment
  • Ability to work closely with producers and on-camera talent
  • Interest or passion for true crime stories and courtroom drama
  • Comfortable communicating with attorneys, judges and courtroom personnel
  • Highest professional on-set etiquette
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
