Moriarty Diesel is hiring an experienced diesel mechanic for: light, medium and heavy duty truck and equipment repair. We are looking for a diesel mechanic to perform a wide variety of work in our shop including the following: Diagnostics, engine repair and overhauls, after treatment, electrical work, suspension, drivability, brake jobs and any general repairs. The ideal candidate will be able to work well unsupervised as well as in the shop with our other technicians, perform diagnosis of electrical systems, hydraulic systems, air and hydraulic brake systems, and engine performance issues.

Hours : Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm (Flexible with start and end time). Overtime is occasionally available based on shop work load

Pay : $17.00 - $35.00 per hour (Pay is based on experience)

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel vehicles
  • Troubleshoot, and repair customer's diesel vehicles
  • Start at a salary of $50,000/yr and up, depending on experience
  • Maintain a fleet of large trucks with diesel engines
  • Diagnose and perform preventative maintenance for heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment
  • Perform light repairs and minor electrical repairs
  • Perform major diesel engine repairs, in frame, and diesel overhead services
  • Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services
  • Performing routine preventive maintenance on equipment and vehicles
  • Perform maintenance/emergency repairs on the fuel, brake, electrical and transmission systems of diesel trucks
  • Perform preventative maintenance on diesel, industrial tractor trailer trucks
  • Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear
  • Performing routine preventative maintenance inspections
  • Maintain diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements
