We are looking for a proactive, self-motivated candidate who thrives in a dynamic environment to join our Accounting team as the Director of Accounting. This position represents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and seasoned accountant with a solid technical accounting background (CPA preferred) to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. In this role, you will leverage your experience to manage the monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for both internal and external customers, including public filing with the SEC. You will help to identify and implement process improvements and research technical issues relating to U.S. GAAP, including accounting for business combinations, revenue recognition and lease accounting. Duties and Responsibilities • Partner with various cross-functional teams across the company (Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Investor Relations, etc.) to obtain an adequate understanding of the business to ensure proper accounting and reporting • Support technical accounting research projects and adoption of new accounting standards • Manage and improve the month-end close process by actively leading and developing a talented accounting team • Oversee preparation of management reporting package for periodic financial review, including relevant fluctuation and variance analysis • Conduct analytical reviews of the company’s consolidated financial statements • Oversee preparation of Forms 10Q, 10K and 8K • Facilitate communication with external auditors to ensure timely and competent responses to audit requests • Identify and influence system/process improvements to drive continued efficiency and effectiveness and ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Section 302 and 906 • Support the company’s strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, minority investments, etc. • Support special projects that may be assigned from time to time • Integrate new business into current financial systems, as required • Continuous evaluation and improvement of accounting processesQualifications and Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred • 6+ years of progressive work experience in accounting or finance; “Big Four” or second tier accounting firm audit experience is preferred • Advanced knowledge of finance, accounting (GAAP) and internal controls (SOX) • SEC reporting experience is preferred • Demonstrated management of direct reports and ability to interact with all levels of the organization and to excel in an environment that emphasizes teamwork and collaboration • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills and attention to detail • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment and perform several tasks concurrently with a high level of efficiency and accuracy
