Job Description


  • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
  • Establishes statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error for testing and inspection; determining levels of confidence.
  • Determines sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods.
  • Applies Statistical Process Control techniques
  • Coordinates PPAP, Control Plan and FMEA activities
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge; maintaining ASQ certified quality engineer CQE qualification is a plus.
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning activities
  • Coordinates Customer complaint resolutions and concerns as assigned
  • Corrective Action system maintenance and closure activities
  • Promotes the use of Problem Solving techniques, root cause analysis, CA and Risk analysis
  • Initiates Process Capability Studies; determination of applied use and follow-up
  • Backup to Management Representative for ISO registration, surveillance and re-certification activities
  • Develops Lean and Six Sigma activities and events in conjunction with Manufacturing, R&D and Engineering; Kaizen event planning throughout organization to reduce waste
  • Cultivates PPM improvements for key accounts
  • Communicates Quality Metrics to Executive Mgmt. and to entire organization where applicable
  • Coordinates with Document Control to ensure procedures, records and documents are controlled and current.
  • Understanding and application of all audit types
  • Develops and reports quality cost metrics and improvement activities
  • Able to Approve PPAP's

Job Requirements


  • Must have earned a BS or BA- Engineering or Quality Assurance a plus
  • Must have 5-10 years of experience in a Quality Assurance role experience with all above mentioned responsibilities of this position.
  • Capability of managing staff, as the person will have direct reports. 
  • Any involvement with ASQ, weather membership or certifications is plus
  • Must have CAPA OR Six Sigma experience and ISO internal auditing experience. 
  • Training Requirements:  Right to Know. OSHA, Safety, Internal Auditing and special training as required
