Financial Advisor role available in Gainesville, GA!  Targeting experienced accountant wanting to transition to financial planning and investment.

Accountants One is excited to partner with a stable, service oriented financial planning firm in Gainesville, GA with nearly $700M in assets under care.  We are looking for an Accounting Professional/CPA that is wanting to make a change in their career and has a passion for serving others.  This is a great opportunity to learn the financial advisory business from two distinguished professionals in the industry with over 67 combined years of lessons learned.


This role is strictly financial planning and will not involve the preparation of tax returns.

  • Complete advisor training program which includes classroom courses, online modules, one-on-one coaching, and examination prep.  Pass necessary certifications including Series 7 and 66
  • Build long term relationships with clients and community
  • Maintain market insight through reading and research
  • Preserve compliance through thorough documentation and following regulations
  • Learn software and systems, pursue ways to improve processes and utilize tools to the fullest potential


After certification/long term:

  • Manage client meetings on plan reviews, asset allocation changes, and financial planning topics
  • Maintain asset allocation models, manage model portfolios and systematic investment when appropriate
  • Oversee corporate retirement plans for clients – conduct enrollment and education meeting
  • Contribute to topics for company blogs (research, data, nets. Etc.)
  • Assist partners with continued growth of the firm through networking and community involvement


Top Objectives for the Associate Financial Advisor to accomplish in the first 6 to 12 months

  1. Complete advisor training program and pass examinations toward certification
  2. Learn company processes and procedures, begin building long term relationships with clients and the community, and gain well rounded understanding of the overall industry
  3. While learning software and systems, pursue ways to improve processes and utilize tools to the fullest potential.  Provide insights to partners and implement improvements.

Accountants One began in 1973, on the 22nd floor of 230 Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta. The operation was so successful that the owner franchised several locations in the northeast. It was then known as Accountants One / Bookkeepers UnLimited. The original owner moved to the west coast and opened 8 offices.

Caught between a poor economy and ownership residing in Detroit, the Atlanta operation declined. In 1983, Bert Erling purchased half of the Atlanta operation from Linda Hoffman and became the managing partner. He opened the Dunwoody office in 1985 and purchased the balance of the operation. The Conyers satellite office was opened in 1998.

In 1997 Bert's son, Dan became involved in the company. The combination of father and son has been successful and the company has doubled its sales in the last four years. The 2001 sales for Accountants One were over $2 million dollars (for the second year in a row).
