Web Content Specialist II

The Web Content Manager is responsible for the overall content management of UCF’s main marketing-focused website. Reporting to the Director of Editorial and Content Strategy, this position is a strategic but hands-on role that will create compelling web copy and blog posts. We're looking for someone who is a writer first, with a gift for storytelling and a strength for driving traffic to websites.

  • The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of producing copy that increases engagement and drives leads.

  • Collaborate regularly with editorial, web, UCF Online marketing, social and other teams to implement a web content strategy that aligns with UCF’s wider goals and brand.

  • Audit content on the main ucf.edu website, as well as plan and maintain a content calendar for top-level pages, including the home page.

  • Regularly produce original short- and long-form written content for the website using a content management system (WordPress).

  • Write about the university for various audiences, from faculty to students, using appropriate voice and tone.

  • Assist in creating SEO marketing strategy, drive tactical execution on a day-to-day basis, analyze performance data, and communicate insights.

  • Edit web content produced by other members of the marketing team.

  • Gather information through research and interviews with subject matter experts.

  • Keep current with emerging digital content technologies and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.


  • Three to five years’ experience in communications (writing and editing required), with experience in managing, developing and maintaining website content preferred.
  • Two years of project management experience required.
  • Two years of Google Analytics experience required.
  • Inbound link management experience preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Higher education experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, public relations, English, marketing or related field required.
  • Master’s degree in communication, journalism, public relations, English, marketing or related field preferred.
