TCOM, a world class supplier of small and large Aerostat ISR Systems based in Columbia, MD is seeking an experienced Windchill Administrator who values working in a collaborative environment and is interested in expanding his or her horizons. The Windchill Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and supporting a dedicated Windchill instance (currently release 11.1) owned by the US Government running on its own dedicated hardware platform. The user population on the program consists of Engineering, Program Management, subcontractors and Government users, which are comprised of TCOM and other organizations, distributed globally, with an anticipated population of approximately 100 persons. The TCOM Windchill Administrator will be a key member of the Program team providing expertise to ensure operation of the Windchill instance, along with user support. The TCOM Windchill Administrator will also work with the TCOM Engineering and Program Managers to ensure that program data, deliverables, drawings and engineering releases and changes are delivered and controlled in a timely and sustainable manner. The position will report to the Program TDP (Technical Data Package) Manager.
Primary responsibility for all software on the PSS-T Windchill server and instance.
Ensure that the PSS-T Windchill software instance is up and running with high availability.
Maintain current PTC patches and releases for the Windchill instance.
Work with TCOM IT Team to ensure the hardware operation of the Windchill instance.
Work with TCOM IT Team to ensure the security of the Windchill instance.
Answer and respond to Program user Help Desk calls and emails.
Keep records of Program user Help Desk calls and emails and their resolution (help / records application TBD).
Baseline the current Windchill instance and serve as a critical team member to ensure the transition of the Windchill hardware and software to TCOM.
Review system logs for issues and problems, and take or propose resolution actions.
Conduct performance management changes to promote system performance.
Serve as primary point of contact for user questions and inquiries for all files and data on the Windchill instance.
Conduct user training sessions, both live in-person and live/remote (e.g. Webex).
Prepare and maintain new user training materials.
Develop and maintain user reference documentation.
Maintain Active Directory integration with TCOM IT.
Receive and respond to User requests and Management direction for user account management, including new accounts, close accounts, and user privileges.
Work with TCOM IT to ensure daily data backup process.
Work with TCOM IT to ensure disaster recovery process.
Conduct system maintenance during off hours as required.
Develop and maintain system documentation.
Train and support a junior alternate/backup person on the TCOM IT Team who can substitute for critical tasks when primary Administrator is not available (e.g. vacation, off hours, etc).
Qualifications and Requirements:
2+ years of experience as a Windchill Administrator
5+ years of experience as Windchill user
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent amount of education and experience
Experience in data migration, creating workflows and lifecycles
Experience in vaulting & replica configuration
Sound knowledge on CAD, BOM and Change Management
Familiar with Windchill ProjectLink, PartsLink modules
Good knowledge on Quality Management, System & Risk Management
Configuration Management experience a plus
Must be U.S. citizen.
Must be capable of obtaining Government Clearance.
