Job Description

The Business Process Management (BPM) team within the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) employs an innovative and focused approach to engaging project/program stakeholders and leadership to identify opportunities for enterprise-level business process optimization with focus on broad positive impact to the organization.  Efforts include assessing critical business needs and identifying, evaluating and designing implementing new or streamlined business processes to support the deployment and operations of effective business, system, and clinical initiatives.  Additionally, this BPM team with its process improvement expertise will collaborate with the Enterprise Delivery Management and Healthcare Innovations Management teams for the design, development, and application of standardization project management best practices within the EPMO.   These business processes are critical to achieving new or expanded business opportunities, optimizing business operations, utilization of corporate resources, and effective project management.

The strategy of this team within the EPMO is to be a center for business process excellence for the organization. Through providing process improvement expertise, business analysis, visualization capabilities, business operations know-how, and complex stakeholder management across the enterprise to guarantee successful implementation, scalability and sustainability for internal and external initiatives led by Hill Physicians driving value to PriMed, its physicians, members, and partners.

Responsible for working across the BPM team to ensure alignment of individual BPM projects and activities in support of achieving organizational initiatives and objectives.  Closely coordinates with the Director, EMPO to ensure appropriate resourcing, accurate and timely project/program reporting, and issue escalation/resolution to senior leadership.  Support EPMO’s efforts to sustain a learning environment to advance team skills in the areas of process improvement, lean principles and business analysis and operational excellence within EPMO projects and programs.

Provide leadership and drive execution of process-oriented projects and/or aspects of Enterprise Delivery Management (EDM) and Healthcare Innovations (HIM) projects ensuring scope and alignment are maintained. Work collaboratively and effectively with internal and external leaders and key stakeholders, understanding their needs and challenges, formulating creative options, and implementing process-based solutions that will meet the needs of all partners while maintaining accountability for designated aspects of project/program execution. 

Work successfully in a highly matrixed environment, with multiple partner organizations and project resources. Responsible for facilitating operational process improvement efforts, achieving cost savings and improving efficiencies as defined, building cross-functional relationships, and ensuring that complex tasks are coordinated to ensure timely completion in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders including PriMed Management, Hill Physicians, Business partners (Health plans, Healthcare Systems), and other partners as applicable.  

Responsibilities: 

                 

  • Coordinate and oversee team member workloads, and make adjustments as needed to maintain optimal team performance and productivity. Support a positive work environment, motivating staff and fostering teamwork by providing guidance and supervision to the team.
  • Working with stakeholders from all organizations involved, clarify project/process improvement goals and objectives, scope, expected outcomes and resource needs and translate to action plans.  Identify potential synergies and efficiencies across EPMO projects and programs for execution.
  • Assess work flows and processes that impact mission critical operations and flow of information among PriMed departments and external partners (as applicable) to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies.
  • Collaborating with business analysts and department SMEs that influence parts of a process, develop impact analyses and recommendations to improve work flows including recommendations for accountability for process oversight.
  • Oversee administration of assigned process improvement efforts, often in partnership with a business owner and/or an EPMO project/program manager, but sometimes as delegate of multiple business owners, to ensure that identified process and workflow improvements are implemented.  Develop and execute upon action plans to communicate rationale for change to impacted departments and stakeholders, and facilitate the assumption or transition of responsibilities associated with process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with managers of enterprise-wide initiatives to ensure that all stakeholders and senior leadership are apprised of potential impacts and status of projects or processes.  Informs project teams of potential barriers and opportunities to improve legacy processes. 
  • Develop and maintain a repository for project level communications including work products, tracking logs, and reporting tools to communicate status and deliverables.
