A large Insurance Agency & Carrier is looking for A Staff Accountant with 3 plus years of specific experience working for an insurance carrier or agency. This position will require strong account reconciliation. Knowledge of Premium Reports / Bordereux a major plus. Specific experience in the PROPERTY & CASUALTY INSURANCE Field. This Staff Accountant must have experience in Excel Spreadsheets. Experience in claim reporting a major plus. Casualty insurance knowledge in accounting a major plus

Experience in a well known agency software AMS 360, or EPIC, TAM Online, Applied Systems


This position pays $50,000 - $60,000 plus great benefits

Responsibilities/Accounting:

        Verify approval on all invoices and check requests & manage all void requests & issue new payments

        Process all commission payments

        Process all claims payments

        Process payments through online banking (ACH, WIRE, Bank Transfers)

        Update and maintain all carrier and vendor database, reconcile all carrier and vendor statements & resolve all carrier and vendor payment issues

        Review, reconcile and Pay Insurance Bordereaux Reports with our main carrier

        Reconcile credit card statements with proper company, department and expense account coding

        Audits and verifies expenses reports

        Maintains account payable files

        1099 preparation

        Check and process deposits, and maintain cash flows

        Bank Reconciliations for multiple companies and accounts

        Support Finance team during Company Audits and End of year reporting.

        Distribute monthly Statements to collections agents

        Ability to process and follow-up on rush items

        Special projects and/or additional duties as assigned by supervisor and Upper Management

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

        Proficient with Microsoft Office, medium skill in Excel

        Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish

        Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative

        Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner

        Detail orientated, accuracy is imperative

        Time management skills with ability to meet deadlines

        Excellent organizational and analytical skills
