The DON provides caring and compassionate leadership for the United Methodist Communities. There is a 60 bed healthcare unit. This position ensures that all nursing associates deliver quality care and services that meet or exceed expectations to all residents of the community. Maintains efficient and organized processes that are in compliance with all Federal, State and local requirements, UMC mission statement and policies and procedures. The Director of Nursing is a responsible learner who engages in the learning process, recognizes personal strengths and weaknesses and utilizes appropriate strategies in pursuit of understanding while respecting and supporting the learning of others. Must be a knowledgeable person who possesses personal and global awareness; seeks information and understanding from various sources and advances skills in multiple disciplines. He/she must be a critical thinker who takes intellectual risks necessary to meet challenges; questions and judge’s information and synthesizes knowledge and skills necessary to lead the nursing department.
The DON is a problem solver who observes, assesses, organizes, evaluates and interprets in systemic ways, employing various approaches; recognizes and manages obstacles and collaborates effectively and learns from the experiences of others. She/he is a clear and insightful communicator who reads, listens and interprets information from various sources and conveys information to others and expresses ideas and emotions through multiple modes. Finally, the DON has knowledge of Long Term Care regulations and is a creative individual who reflects on and develops ideas in unique ways and values individuality of expression.
United Methodist Communities has been serving the residential and healthcare needs of older adults in New Jersey. We offer a range of living options from residential living apartments and convenient assisted living residences to short-term rehabilitation services, skilled nursing care and memory support residences throughout New Jersey.
Must have NJ RN License; BSN/MSN preferred. Must have 3-5 years supervisory experience in LTC; 5 years as DON preferred.
