JOB TITLE: UNIX Administrator LOCATION Jersey City Main Skills (Linux, AIX, Solaris) * 7+ years of Experience in financial institution. * Project experience - Full project life Cycle (Working under Project management) 5+ years * Strong knowledge of Operating Systems. (AIX, Linux, Solaris, etc) Experience: 7+ years * Qualification: BS degree in Information Technology or equivalent industry experience with required certifications. Server Administrator for non-windows Unix and Linux platform servers Responsible for monitoring performance, fine-tuning, capacity planning, troubleshooting, deployments and post support according to company standards, policies and procedures. This includes maintaining disaster recovery environments to ensure compliance with the corporate plan of business continuity. * Adhere to all policies and procedures related to Non-windows-based servers, specifically the Production Release Approval Procedure and System Trouble Reporting Procedure. * Responsible for all new non-windows server installations and server decommissions. Planning and following through on all actions including pre-deployment testing on new server installs. * Responsible for backing up and restoring all servers. * Responsible for Performance tuning and capacity planning of all non-windows servers. * Responsible for space monitoring and reporting. * Responsible for Hardware Inventory Reporting and Hardware EOL(End-of-Life) Reporting. * Responsible for updating Server Documentation. * Responsible for assisting server compliance testing. * Responsible for implementing all server security according to Security policy in accordance with industry best practices. * Application development support and batch EOD support for all non-windows related systems. * Responsible for maintaining the infrastructure related to Non-Windows Unix and Linux platform servers within the America's, including troubleshooting, deployments and post support of new releases. * Responsible for maintaining good communication contacts with vendors, Head Office's systems support teams and local IT teams as needed; including interface with end users and next level management to provide technical consulting as it relates to Non-windows Unix and Linux platform servers. * Responsible for implementing security procedures and monitoring with in the Unix team. Development and documentation. * Assist with projects related to Non-windows Unix and Linux platform servers and cooperate with other IT teams based on project requirements. * Keeping abreast with technologies on an ongoing basis to maintain a high level of technical competence in order to make recommendations to next level management, as required. * Enhancing Security policies on all Unix platforms. Suggesting and evaluating new security enhancements to Unix server environment. * Provide leadership in performing tasks in an efficient, effective and professional manner. * Support the bank in any BCP Contingency events either onsite or remote support Technical Skills: * Assist with achieving the Team's business plans and short-term objectives, reporting/resolving system troubles, including recommending countermeasures and proactive steps to prevent system failures and breakdowns. * Assist with the maintenance of professional documents, schematics and diagrams related to Non-windows Unix and Linux platform servers within the America's. * Reporting all system troubles to management in a timely manor as they occur. Fill out summary sheet describing the problem and emailing it to management. * Obtain a basic understanding of the applicable rules and regulations that govern the Bank. Understand that all questions and/or clarification about such rules and regulations should be directed to the Legal & Compliance Unit of the Americas Division. Attend the Annual Compliance Training presented by the Legal & Compliance Unit. Read and respond as necessary to all compliance-related reference and directive materials received.
