Exciting opportunity to join our world-renowned pediatric burn hospital with Harvard affiliation and pioneering research.

We are currently seeking qualified and talented candidates to join our team as a Per Diem as needed) Food Service Aide.

Prepares and serves meals to patients, employees and visitors as directed by the Executive Chef.

  • Prepares luncheon specials in a palatable and safe manner according to HACCP procedures                                                                                                    

  • Performs assigned prep work and helps to set up the line for lunch. May serve breakfast to patients. May serve on the line. Greets customers in a courteous manner at all times. 

  • Preps dinner specials for the evening meal in the cafeteria, prepares and may serve patients dinners, may set up cafeteria line for dinner and serve on the line.

  • Assist with preparation of snacks for patients Monday-Friday.

  • Ensures food is prepared in accordance with established recipes and served to patients and employees in a timely manner.

Responsible for ensuring proper food safety using HACCP procedures

  • Ensures hot food served on the steam table is held at 140 or higher;temperatures are logged.

  • Keeps work area clean at all times.

  • Defrosts all foods according to standard procedure from freezer to walk-in refrigerator three days prior to use.

  • All foods are properly covered and dated in accordance with standard procedure.

  • All hot food is cooled down to 41 degrees within six hours.

  • After cleaning surfaces a sanitizer is used with disposable paper towels to ensure sanitary conditions.

  • All cutting boards are put through the dishwasher after every use.

  • Wears a clean uniform and presents themselves in a neat, sanitary and orderly appearance.

  • Wears gloves when working with ready to eat food such as sandwiches, desserts etc. Wears gloves and uses tongs and serving spoons while serving customers and patients.

Three year (3) plus specialized training in food preparations. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions; prepare food in large or small quantities; follow recipes.

Per diems are entitled some benefits which include medical, dental, vision and the 403b retirement savings plan with a match

Three hospitals are devoted to the physical and psychological treatment of children with severe burns. One hospital combines all disciplines, helping patients with orthopaedic conditions, spinal cord injuries and burn injuries.
