Accountant

Birmingham Full-Time

Accountant responsibilities include:

  • Prepares and enters monthly general ledger journal entries and accruals to meet monthly deadlines
  • Reconciles and analyzes general ledger accounts
  • Maintains and track fixed asset and related depreciation schedules
  • Calculates use tax for various states and submit required payments
  • Understanding of Retail Commissions
  • Reconcile, track, and prepare any monthly journal entry for prepaid expenses
  • Assists with accounts payable functions including but not limited to verifying invoices, approvals, uploading invoices, check requests, and entering data into accounts payable system
  • Prepare and calculate monthly rent schedules
  • Understands financial statements including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow
  • Assists with annual external audits
  • Analysis of monthly income statement with strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve and resolve issues
  • Research and answer financial questions
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting by developing spreadsheet reports
  • Recommends improvements to the company’s accounting operation/processes

Accountant requirements includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years of Quickbooks experience
  • Strong team player, willing to contribute ideas and take on new challenges
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize time, and meet required deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
