Exercise considerable leadership skill and independent judgment in directing distribution system operations, and exercise direct and indirect supervision over professional and technical personnel
Manage the overall operation of facilities, equipment, process control systems and personnel within the Control Room and Instrumentation & Control Departments
Responsible for the efficient operation of the Control Room, supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA), auxiliary generators and engines, electrical equipment, buildings, grounds and equipment, including pumping stations, pressure regulation valves and associated structures within the distribution system
Maintain overall responsibility for energy management, Control Room operations, including the oversight, leadership and direction of the water system optimization project; develop, execute and monitor a strong proactive maintenance program for the assets and equipment
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 10 years of equivalent experience
10 years of experience in the operation of water distribution systems, SCADA and Instrumentation & Control
5 years of management experience
Connecticut Department of Public Health Class III Distribution Systems Operation Certificate preferred
Ability to plan, direct, coordinate and administer the operations and maintenance
Considerable knowledge and experience in principles and practices of project management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; continuous improvement mindset
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Experience in engineering and hydraulics a plus
