  • Evaluate coding compliance through coding audits

  • Ensure that high priority coding
  • Planning and organizing coding workflows
  • Develop strategies for educating providers on improving coding practices and coding accuracy
  • Evaluate clinical documentation, audit coding quality for inpatient, and outpatient coding, and address coding documentation issues
  • Facilitate coding in a timely fashion
  • Provide oversight to coding office procedures

Interim Coding Supervisor(On-site)


***Strongly prefer a local to work in Rancho Cordova, CA.


May consider remote if we can't fill locally. Inpatient and outpatient experience a must. 3+ years of inpatient coding experience as well as 3+ years of leadership experience. Must have an active CCS, RHIA or RHIT coding credential. Proficient in Microsoft office - Excel & Word.

Main job duties - Double click to see all 11: 1. Coding Calendar – coder assignments management
2. Monitor LADs
3. Rejected Billing Report daily
4. Monitor and address Queries as needed
5. Weekly Team Meeting with Mgr. (Lead meeting if Mgr. unavailable)
6. Pend report review and management
7. Pt. Type Changes and Charge issues – Monitor and manage
8. Coder Education (Dignity and Optum) – monitor timely completion.
9. Staff Management –
a. PTO requests (review with Mgr as needed, approve, secure coverage)
b. Attendance monitoring – address non-compliance as needed
c. Corrective action as appropriate
d. Ergonomic requests
e. TEAM – Time keeping system daily review and management
10. CMS Transmittals
11. Run reports for facility as needed
