Under general supervision of the Shop Supervisor or Service Manager, this Senior-level position,
is responsible for repairing, rebuilding and servicing of heavy construction and lift truck equipment offered in the Company’s product line. You must have and maintain the majority of your own tools. This positions Job Description includes but not limited too:
Removes and installs guards, tracks, roller frames, cabs, masts, forks, and other external parts.
Removes and installs engines, transmissions, steering clutches, drive axles and all components.
Cleans parts with petroleum-based solvents or similar cleaning methods.
Assembles, disassembles and repairs components. Evaluates worn and used parts, and when necessary, orders new and rebuilt parts from parts books, shop parts personnel and/or outside vendors.
Diagnoses machine problems and makes recommendations for repair. Performs failure analysis and assists in technical projects.
Operates and tests equipment after repair and makes critical machine and system adjustments.
Completes assigned service reports needed to document parts and labor expenses and repair methodology.
Assists in directing and training less-experienced Service Technicians and in-conducting customer maintenance meetings.
May be assigned as leadsman or resident serviceman.
Performs miscellaneous housekeeping duties including sweeping and mopping floors, painting shelves, racks and aisle markers, etc.
The requirements to have for the related Job Description of Field Service Mechanic is as follows and Salary Depends on Experience:
High School diploma or GED required 2-year vocational education certificate or equivalent knowledge is preferred.
Four to 5 years of related experience preferred Developed mechanical skills and ability to perform basic algebra and geometry.
Physically demanding position with brief to prolonged variations in weather temperature, noise and noxious fume exposures.
Must be detail oriented and have a Valid Drivers License.
Must be able to pass a background and drug screening.
