We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant for our Germantown, MD office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas. It is essential that this candidate bring analytical and organizational skills to best support the accounting team.

  • Responsible for Accounts Receivable cycle – customer invoicing, applying payments and collections
  • Record and reconcile payroll, leave and other related accounts to General Ledger
  • Recognize monthly revenue and prepare required schedules
  • Assist with Contract review and project set up in Deltek Costpoint
  • Prepare month-end assigned closing entries
  • Prepare assigned balance sheet reconciliations and follow through to resolve reconciled items
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close
  • Participate in various audits as required
  • Problem-solve and contribute to the success of the team
  • Other support and cross-training as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or relevant field
  • 3 years of accounting experience
  • Excellent in Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deltek Costpoint
  • Experience working in a SOX Act of 2002 environment
