Human Resource Manager

Position Summary:

We are a licensed Professional Employer Organization, more commonly known as a PEO, or Staff Leasing Company.  A PEO makes it possible for small to medium sized companies to economically outsource the responsibilities of their Human Resources department, including

  • Employee Group Health Benefits Administration

  • Safety / Risk Management / Workers Compensation

  • Workplace injury / claims administration

  • Payroll Processing / Payroll Tax  

  • HR Compliance / New employee on-boarding / records management

By outsourcing these responsibilities to dmDickason Staff Leasing Company, our Clients have more time and resources to better manage its business; to focus entirely on growing their company rather than having to worry about all the routine governmental nonsense that is overwhelming progressive employers today.

Established in 1965, dmDickason Personnel Services is a private human capital management company that structures, implements and manages customized human resource services for our clients.  Our goal is to assist each client to increase its’ overall efficiency, productivity and profitability by shifting the expensive and burdensome tasks of “back office" management with more effective, strategic and outsourced human resource solutions.

Currently, we have 3 SHRM certified Human Resource Generalists/ HR Business Advisors to work with each of their assigned clients on a daily basis.  Their job is to assist our Clients with on-going solutions to their daily human resource issues.  We assist our Clients with reducing risk and compliance vulnerabilities to all of the government rules and regulations that can lead to costly litigation.

Your job will be to work in liaison between dmDickason’s HR Director, the assigned Clients and manage/supervise the day-to-day work activities of our HR (Field) Business Advisors / Generalists in carrying out their responsibilities.

Essential job functions:


  • By working closely with all Clients and each HR Business Advisor, you will be personally expected to visit 5-6 Clients daily; to identify best practices and organizational efficiencies, as well as coach and train HR Generalists/Business Advisors to properly apply human resource policies and procedures, employment laws and regulations within their specifically assigned Clients.


  • Through ongoing communication with each of your HR Generalists/ Business Advisors, you will be expected to keep an active pulse on any/all important client site issues including Client’s complete satisfaction with our services. 


  • You will directly manage the process, implementation and coordination of the following dmDickason services to our Clients and their employees: payroll processing, benefits administration, safety / risk management unemployment claims administration, HR and employment law compliance.  Identify and recommend creative solutions to all HR issues; offering solutions, alternatives or process interventions as needed.


  • Counsel and coordinate the uniform application of policies and procedures and the application of discipline to preserve positive employee relations and to prevent wrongful termination lawsuits or excessive turnover;


  • Earn the trust and respect of each Client.  Become their confidant and trusted partner/ offer HR direction to the Client and its employees; ensure the consistent application of policies in compliance with state and federal employment law and dmDickason policy.


  • You will personally conduct all worksite investigations related to wrongful termination, hostile work environment, sexual harassment, etc., and counsel management team on matters of investigations, terminations, corrective actions, company policy and procedures, etc.; You will also oversee any/all employee terminations to ensure proper cause, compliance, notices, time to cure, documentation, etc.


  • You will directly represent our Company as a highly interested and pro-active Partner to our Clients by coordinating strong working relations between the worksite employer, its’ employee’s and dmDickason;


  • Coordinate Client scheduling with Assigned HR Advisors based on each client’s critical needs for that day or week,


  • Ensure all client visits are properly prepared by Assigned HR Advisors; that we have researched all issues and solutions, and that we are fully prepared to offer credible HR advice / corrective action consistent with each HR problem, and that all recommendations are well documented in Client files.


  • Work with Clients to manage the strategies which enable the client to attract and retain the best people available through an efficient, professional employment process;  Conduct new employee orientations / drug testing;


  • Manage all business partnership and HR liaison to several assigned dmDickason Clients.  As a dmDickason Human Resources Representative, you will be providing individualized counsel and direction for the specific Business Client’s and worksite employee’s needs; 

  •  Report directly to dmDickason’s Director of HR and President.  Provide daily summary of important Client issues to Management.  Prepare weekly report of activities/ visits and metrics that occurred within your areas of responsibility.


Position Requirements:


  • 5-7 years Corporate Human Resources Experience as an HR Generalist for a Private, For –Profit Company of over 50 Employees;

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, or a related field;

  • PHR or SPHR certified;

  • Management / Leadership skills a must;  

  • Solid working knowledge and practical experience of/in : Title VII, EEOC, Wrongful termination, ADEA, ADA, FLSA, USSERA, COBRA, HIPPA, ERISA, hostile work environment / sexual harassment investigations and workers’ compensation, safety / claims and risk management, employee benefits administration and unemployment claims management. Solid background in implementing and enforcing employee handbooks / policies and procedures for a large company helpful;

  • Good communication skills in English and Spanish (Bilingual absolutely necessary).  

  • Must have charismatic, professional, well-groomed appearance.  Up-beat customer service / public relations / problem solving skills.   

  •  Able / willing to work “on-call" & respond when needed.  This exempt job is not 8-5.  May occasionally require some evenings, early mornings, weekends (at the request and requirement of client).
