Our client, a large Property Management and Real Estate Investment organization in the Chicago is in need of a Senior Property Accountant. The need is immediate for a contract to hire basis. The Senior Property Accountant will report to the Controller. The Senior Property Accountant responsibilities and requirements are listed below:
SENIOR PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT Responsibilities:
Maintain general ledger for multiple properties and investment funds
Track and record intercompany transactions within a complicated ownership structure
Record daily cash activity and provide cash balance reports to management
Manage expense reports, including intercompany payables, to the accounts payable system
Prepare month end close, bank reconciliations, A/R reconciliation, recording accruals, etc.
Prepare monthly financial statements for internal/external distribution
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including variance and occupancy reports
Perform financial review for properties under due diligence for potential purchase
Provide training on accounting and property management software to employees
Reconcile and process investor contributions, distributions and review investor information
Prepare property operating budgets and quarterly forecasts
Maintain records for job costing, capital and leasing costs and depreciation
Prepare and provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to lenders
SENIOR PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
3+ years’ experience with real estate investment company or public accounting firm
Knowledge and experience with JD Edwards accounting software
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Prior history of working independently and providing accurate and detailed work
Strong communication and analytical skills
Self-starter with the ability to excel in a fast paced and customer service oriented environment
Strong attention to detail
