Qualifications

·         High School Diploma or equivalent

·         Medical Billing diploma and completed externship is preferred

·         Minimum 3 years of medical billing and collections experience

Skills

·         Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD / CPT codes

·         Excellent attention to detail

·         Problem solving skills

·         Multi-task effectively

·         Strong Microsoft Office and technical skills

Responsibilities

·         Reviewing and submitting claims to both commercial and government payors using clearinghouse

·         Correct any missing or incorrect information for patients and providers

·         Obtain a payment status of claims, working to reduce payment times by communicating with payors

·         Process appeals / rebills, research denied claims all in a timely fashion

·         Assist patients questions regarding their claim(s) status

·         Initiate any refunds or adjustment requests as needed
