Job Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Review health assessments completed by the Program Nurse and provide clinical feedback.
  • Provide medication management including prescription refills and medication education to consumers.  
  • Document patients' medical and psychological histories, physical assessment results, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, or outcomes.  
  • Provide training to other team members on topics including medications and drug interactions. 
  • Communicate and coordinate care with psychiatrists in the community, as needed.
  • Assist with psychiatric emergencies, refer residents to emergency care if needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention and address all emergency situations as appropriate.

Position : Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Location : Brooklyn, NY
Department : Mental Health Division
Type : Part Time, 2- 3 Days a Week,
Schedule : 9am - 5pm
Hourly Rate: $54

Summary: The Psych NP partners with a mobile multi-disciplinary team of professionals to deliver comprehensive mental health treatment to individuals who have a mental illness that seriously impairs their functioning in the community.

Requirements :

  • Must be a New York State licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
  • 3-5 years of experience working with both children and adults with people with mental illness and co-occurring disorders
  • Bilingual in any language a plus
