PRINCIPAL MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Develop and Lead team of engineers in the design and manufacture of new calibration instruments.

• Responsible for design of portable test and measurement products.

• Responsible for creating and/or overseeing the drawing of various electromechanical components with emphasis on pneumatic and hydraulic pressure systems.

• Responsible for reviewing drawing packages to be sent off to suppliers.

•Work with purchasing department and to source components and assemblies.

• Support manufacturing operations during pilot-production and production.

• Work with Suppliers, Product Managers, Operations, Procurement, and other staff areas to ensure a new or revised design is transitioned smoothly into production.

• Maintain accurate records of design developments during all phases of each project.

• Assist in material selection for mating components (metals, plastics, etc.)

• Meet with customers regarding product designs.

• Pneumatic/ hydraulic system design

• Air Data Test Equipment Design

• Torque/ Force Test Equipment Design

REQUIRED/ HIGHLY PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years in electro-mechanical product design.

•3-5 years’ experience in product design of portable test equipment.

• 3 – 5 years’ experience with pneumatic/ hydraulic systems design

• 5+ years of CAD/3D CAD design experience

• 3-5+ years in technical leadership/management role.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage fast paced, multi-disciplinary engineering team.

• Knowledge of materials and especially machined parts, sheet metal and plastics.

• BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering and at least 10 years of paid industry experience in electro-mechanical design and product development, including pneumatic/ hydraulic devices which use pressure, temperature and forces sensors.

• An emphasis in pneumatic and hydraulic system design, Aerospace Engineering, and Experience of electrical system design involving GUI design are highly sought.

• Strong knowledge of the Government/Customer Acquisition Process a plus, especially experience in writing technical proposals in response to government solicitations.

• Assist the Program Managers in the development of the cost estimates Knowledge of the technical requirements and personnel required to develop the end product
