Job Description

Recruitment/New Hire Process

Lead for recruitment efforts

Maintain recruiting files and Applicant Tracking System

Posting job ads and organizing resumes and job applications

Scheduling job interviews for hiring manager and assisting in interview process

Participating and scheduling all job fairs

Collecting employment and tax information

Ensuring background, medical, and reference checks are completed

Preparing new employee files

Overseeing the completion of compensation and benefit documentation

Assist in new employee’s orientation

Serving as a point person for all new employee questions

Payroll and Benefits Administration

Processing payroll, which includes ensuring vacation and sick time are tracked in the system

Answering payroll questions

Facilitating resolutions to any payroll errors

Record Maintenance

Maintaining current HR files and HRIS system

Performing file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained

Performing payroll and benefits audits and recommending any correction action

Completing termination paperwork and assisting with exist interviews

Employee Relations

Send birthday cards for employee events such as illness, death, birth, birthday, and so on.

Assist in planning and hosting employee events

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

(Education / Experience)

Associate degree in Human Resources (Bachelor’s degree preferred)

1-3 years Human Resources experience (Trucking, Warehousing, Industrial industry preferred)

Required Competencies

(Skills/Abilities/Special Qualifications)

Skilled in problem solving

Must be able to communicate with various associates & build relationships with hiring managers

Must be organized able to prioritize work

Basic knowledge of labor laws

Makes ethical decisions based on laws and company policies
