Phillips Lytle LLP, a premier law firm, seeks a Document Clerk for its Banking and Financial Services practice group in its Rochester, NY office. The Document Clerk has overall responsibility for assisting the attorneys and paralegals by providing administrative assistance with commercial loan documentation and processing.
The successful candidate will be proficient in Word, Outlook, including experience with mail merges, track changes and comparing documents; must have the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions; be organized and pay attention to detail; be a quick learner; be able to work on multiple transactions concurrently; have good written and verbal communication skills; be able to establish effective working relationships and promote a positive work and team environment; and be sensitive to confidentiality and have the ability to maintain the confidentiality of client documents.
Associate's Degree plus prior experience in a legal or lending environment preferred.
Essential duties and responsibilities are representative of job duties that candidates must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation. Regular and predictable attendance is one of the essential functions.
Merging and drafting loan documents in Microsoft Word.
Working with Attorneys/Paralegals to edit and make requested changes to loan documents.
Emailing loan documents.
Framing up files and preparing for closing, including preparation of closing sets.
Faxing, filing, photocopying.
Drafting letters and memos.
Packaging and sending loan document packages via overnight mail to clients.
