Staff Accountant
Privately held mortgage-banking firm in San Ramon is looking for a strong Staff Accountant to join their team! This company has experienced substantial growth and is looking to have a record year!
Staff Accountant
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions, and completes corresponding reconciliations.
- Analyzes financial statement fluctuations in support of monthly/quarterly/annual reporting requirements.
- Assists in the month end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes
- Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
- Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
- Supports REO and other property accounting
- Maintains and reconcile fixed asset depreciation schedules
- Records daily deposits
- Assists in warehouse line reconciliation
- Special projects as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-3 years' experience, preferably in Mortgage Banking industry
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of product; Outlook, Word, PowerPoint with Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced fluid environment. ·
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality required.
