Finance Manager

Our client, a technology start-up in Atlanta is hiring a highly motivated and analytical individual to join their team as Finance Manager. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity reporting directly to the CEO.

At a high level, this individual will own the finance functions across the United States and Australian entities of the company partnering with the CEO to drive the long-term finance vision of the company during an exciting period of growth and scaling.

Financial Leadership:

  • Build and/or enhance financial models and analyses and strategic initiatives including ongoing analysis of financial results to support decision making of management
  • Manage treasury and cash management function
  • Lead detailed budgeting forecasting in collaboration with senior leadership including headcount, operating and capital expenditures
  • Liaise with external accounting and tax experts to ensure compliance with accounting standards and timely filings on an ongoing basis
  • Development of KPIs and metrics around financial health including ad-hoc analysis to better understand key drivers of company performance
  • Be the day-to-day point person during fund raising rounds, managing due diligence processes, as well as the communication cadence with key

Operational Leadership

  • Drive process improvements to improve cross-departmental tools and efficiencies while collaborating with key leadership across the company
  • Implement policies and procedures to improve the scalability of back-office functions
  • Work closely with external vendors including benefits providers, insurance, etc. to ensure all company needs are fulfilled to the fullest and operate cost effectively
  • Coordinate with our legal team on case work critical to the growth of the company (specifically customer contracting, partnerships, etc.). The successful candidate need not have a law degree, but simply coordinate with outside counsel
  • Provide support and guidance to other areas of the business including leading the individual responsible for the day-to-day marketing function

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA, Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred
  • A passion for problem solving, and the ability to structure ambiguous information into actionable strategy
  • Ability to prioritize, and operate in a sometimes chaotic, fast paced environment with a cool, calm and collected head
  • Advanced to expert level MS Excel proficiency, including proven analytical ability to create financial models and articulate results
  • Strong influencing skills; assertive without being antagonistic or alienating; ability to work in a collaborative and team-centric culture
  • Energized by a challenge, are forward-thinking, credible and dedicated to producing high quality work
  • Highly attentive to detail
  • Interest in the Aviation Industry a bonus
