Our client, a world leading Pharmaceutical Company in La Jolla, CA is currently looking for a Research Associate I to join their expanding team

  • Job Title: Research Associate (Tissue Culture / Cell Banking)
  • Duration: 18 months contract
  • Location: La Jolla, CA

Job Description:
Mandatory Skills:
  • Cell bank exp.
  • Tissue culture exp.

Preferred Skills:
  • Proficient in handling mice and administering compounds via various routes (PO, IV, IP,SC).
  • Basic understanding/experience with in-vivo skills

Notes:
  • NO PhD!
  • NO candidates that are heavily focused on in-vivo exp
  • We are seeking a highly motivated contract Research Associate with strong interpersonal communication skills to support the Central Cell Bank in our Pharmacology group at La Jolla. The role is responsible for procurement, collection, expansion, storage and distribution of all cell lines, and the candidate will maintain accurate records for audit and filing purposes to serve the research and development needs of Pharmaceutical Oncology.

Skills/ Responsibilities
  • Excellent sterile cell culture technique, particularly with transformed or immortalized human and mouse cancer cell lines.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and team player in multi-cultural environment
  • Organized with high attention to detail.

  • The Candidate should have a minimum of 2 years' experience in cancer cell biology or related field.
  • Candidates with PhDs will NOT be considered.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who fulfill above requirements plus are proficient in handling mice and administering compounds via various routes (PO, IV, IP,SC).

  • This position requires flexible working hours: A regular 5-day work week might include late shift, weekend, or holidays to support BID dosing schedules.

Comments:
  • Cell bank experience
  • Sterile tissue culture experience
  • NOT in-vivo focused/based -- if candidate has some minor or basic exp/skills in in-vivo, a plus but NOT main focus!

Minimum Education:
  • ALAT/ALATg, or BS degree in a life science
  • with minimum 1-2 years of hands on laboratory experience in small animal experimentation.
