Field Printer Repair Technician

Location: Location: New Orleans, LA (n/a)

Job Description:
This customer-facing, non-exempt Client printer field position provides onsite, dedicated hardware support and related services to a Client Print Product customer. Products include A3 Color LaserJet, Officejet, and Page Wide. A fast-paced, constantly changing environment that requires positive approaches and demonstrated success at handling multiple stressors. Candidates must be self-contained, resourceful, organized, and determined for success.

Duties Include:
• Provide break/fix support on Client Print Devices
• Perform maintenance on Devices as directed by the appropriate Client Account Delivery Manager
• Provide end-user training on the printer functionality
• Utilize web-based software to manage the Fleet which may include proactive monitoring through Web Jetadmin, and initiating Device related trouble tickets into the Customer supplied ticketing system
• Manage utilization of On-Site spare device inventory
• Complete device moves as managed by the Client ADM and as directed by Customer
• Replace toner and staples
• Clear paper jams
• Coordinate with Client regarding Device and Client Branded Software Support Service calls
• Report any occurrences of Customer dissatisfaction to the appropriate Client Management
• Assist in the collection of usage pages for devices when required
• Provide troubleshooting for device problems or perform spare device replacements

Core Competencies for Success in this Position:
• Strong mechanical aptitude, working with tools and various alignment apparatus
• Alignment with customer's business needs while maintaining the Client's contractual commitments
• Ability to logically and systemically technically/mechanically troubleshoot various hardware problems on printers
• May involve third party software, networks, and switches
• Ability to balance and prioritize multiple activities and issues
• Strong interpersonal verbal/written skills (critical to relationship building)
• Attention to detail and commitment to administrative responsibilities
• Exercise solid business-based decision-making skills, taking appropriate risk to ensure that both Client and customer business need are met
• Independent thinking while adhering to standard technological/mechanical and business procedures
• Industry/company knowledge that provides solid technology solutions and options to the customer
• Ability to quickly and accurately evaluate a technical situation while managing the operational challenges
• Working independently and able to re-prioritize tasks, events and commitments quickly based on contract, customer, and business situation
• Highly skilled at prioritizing, planning, working independently all within standard policies and business standards

Requirements for Position:
• Valid Driver's License
• Personal reliable transportation required
• Vehicle large enough to transport spare parts
• Mileage reimbursed by Client
• Willing to travel by Air for training if required
• Personal smartphone required with Data plan
• Personal tool kit required
• Business casual dress (khaki pants and a polo or button-down shirt)
• Able to bend, crawl, stoop, sit, lift and move 50 pounds of weight
• Availability to work both scheduled and unscheduled overtime
• Participate in assigned work during non-traditional workdays, holidays and shift work
• Onsite customer-facing experience
• Technical/mechanical hardware repair experience
• Demonstrated technical/mechanical aptitude for learning new technology
• High School diploma or equivalent, plus additional hardware technology training; college preferred
