Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Director, Quality, Safety, Accreditation & Risk, this position is responsible for managing and overseeing the hospital's environmental safety programs in order to maintain a safe and hazard-free environment for patients, staff and visitors in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Job Requirements

1. Bachelor's Degree is required, a degree in a health related field is preferred. Ten years of equivalent experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
2. Three years of safety coordination or management experience is required, experience in a healthcare field is preferred.
3. Working knowledge of safety and security programs is required.
4. Ability to effectively gather, organize and report data and to provide appropriate/professional proposals for effecting necessary change is required.
5. Highly developed interpersonal skills and effective oral and written presentation and communications skills are required.
6. Knowledge of California specific regulations including Cal-OSHA and California Title XXII is preferred.
7. Knowledge of federal OSHA regulations and Joint Commission standards is preferred.
