Job Description

General Summary:  The IT Field Service Technician will provide onsite IT hardware/software support to retail clients located within the Dallas service region. Services and support will include installation, troubleshooting, and repair of point-of-sale (POS) systems, self-checkout lanes, controllers, PC's & servers, mobile terminals & tablets, laser printers/label printers, counter scales, and network-routers & switches for our clients in the Specialty Retail, Quick Service, Hospitality, and Grocer industries.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Managed assigned service zone to ensure service calls are completed within the Service Level Agreement while following company policy related to inventory management, service call management, safety initiatives, and others.
  • Troubleshoot and repair failed IT hardware in retail store and/or office settings.
  • Pick up shipped goods, service parts, and drop off defective service parts in a timely manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Edit all aspects of web-based service tickets assigned to the service zone (includes providing en route and onsite statuses, comprehensive notes, resolution information, equipment information, and closure detail).
  • Maintain spare and parts inventory for multiple customer environments; record accurate usage of service parts as dictated by the service management system.
  • Maintain constant adherence to inventory control practices and standards.
  • Performance review metrics include the following:
  • SLA achievement
  • Customer service scores
  • Inventory movement and accuracy
  • Safety
  • Compliance related training and follow-through
  • Service call management
Job Requirements

  • Must have availability to be on-call and work weekends, evenings, and overtime as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; AS/BS degree in related technical field desired.
  • Without a degree, industry certification A+, Net+, Server+, or similar required.

  • Strong computer hardware repair experience required.
  • Must be mechanically inclined and have the ability to troubleshoot IT hardware.
  • Point-of-sale and/or retail IT equipment repair experience desired.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Valid Driver's License, personal vehicle, clean driving record, and a focus on safety at all times.
