The Mechanical Engineering Manager plans and directs all aspects of mechanical design and engineering activities within an organization. Ensures all mechanical engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives. Being a Mechanical Engineering Manager oversees the design of products such as complex metal cabinets, aluminum structures to house electronic components, sheets metal component parts for the appliance industry.  Will help acquire proper purchased products needed to complete the product before turning it over to purchasing.  Will be instrumental in the quoting of new products.  Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Additionally, Mechanical Engineering Manager typically reports to the Vice President/Operations Manager.  Is capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Mechanical Engineering Manager typically requires 6+ years of managerial experience.

  • Assures the timely production of cost efficient customer specified designs and provides support to department for completion of this goal.
  • Provides project management to assure accurate and timely completion of assigned projects.
  • Continuously supports efforts to reduce costs while maintaining product integrity.
  • Responsible for the approval and submission of engineering evaluations and failure analyses.
  • Periodically reviews processes to assure efficient and effective performance.
  • Establishes individual and departmental goals which are aligned with the company's business strategies and objectives.
  • Maintain a positive culture of team work and cooperation at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering field - preferably Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Sheet metal fabrication experience preferred
  • Proficient with Solidwork 2018.
  • Willingness to lead by example
