Responsible for performing professional and complex administrative and fiscal support work in the Division of Fiscal Accounting Services. Coordinates the application and administration of grant funding for the County and other agencies. Seeks new grant funding and works with the appropriate departments or agencies with grant applications. Writes and implements grant policies and answers questions regarding grants management. Monitors grant activity for compliance of award special conditions and other applicable rules and regulations. Prepares and submits quarterly and annual federal and state financial reports and requests reimbursement of funds from granting agencies. Works with Budget Office to establish general ledger codes and monitors grant budgets.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in public administration, business, accounting, finance or a related field, and 2 years of closely related experience. A certificate in grants management and local government experience preferred.
Requires working knowledge of OMB circulars A-87, A-102, A-133, and 2 CFR part 200.
Must have the ability to consistently meet federal, state, and local deadlines for grant reporting and close-outs.
Personal computer experience using Microsoft Excel and Access applications required. Experience using Tyler Munis financial software desired.
Possession a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia with satisfactory driving record.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines which include a computer, typewriter, adding machine, fax machine, copier, etc. Occasionally may lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time.
