Overview

AbleVets, LLC, is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets, has an opportunity available for an experienced energetic, motivated, Project Manager for Security Architecture and support for our VA customer. This position is located in Chantilly, VA.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

Lead, coordinate, communicate, integrate and be accountable for the overall success of the project. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the technical cyber security engineering team, contract deliverables, subcontract agreements within the cost and schedule of the VA contract.

The successful candidate will:
• Handle the high-level communications with the customer
• Proactively keep executive leadership informed of risks and opportunities
• Encourage open communication among staff to facilitate greater understanding of project objectives
• Clearly understand the customer mission, environment and organization and will anticipate the customer’s needs related to current and future business needs
• Have overall responsibility for the quality of all work produced on the project
• Create an environment that values and rewards team accomplishments
• Respond to customers’ requests in a timely manner and assures staff understands same
• Serve as an example to subordinates in modeling ethical behavior

Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in computer security, computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline is required with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience. An additional eight (8) years of related experience can be substituted for degree requirement.
  • Must possess a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Minimum of five (5) years of IT project management experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience managing Agile Development projects
  • Demonstrated experience in initiating, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling and closing projects
  • Demonstrated experience in integration management, scope management, schedule management, cost management, quality management, resource management, communications management, risk management, procurement management and stakeholder management on projects
  • Demonstrated experience in running multiple contract types (fixed price, cost reimbursable, time & material) as the project manager
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skill
  • Roven leadership ability with solid interpersonal skills and demonstrable team building skills
  • Strong financial and budget management skills
  • Self-starter that can work under general direction in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
  • Previous government contracting work experience
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

  • Familiar with NIST SP 800-53 Security and Privacy Controls for Federal Information Systems and Organizations
  • Familiar with NIST SP 800-37 Risk Management Framework for Information Systems and Organizations
  • Familiar with the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) publications and requirements
  • Familiar with the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) process and requirements
  • Familiarity with NIST 800-181 National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Cybersecurity Workforce Framework
  • Would nice to have certification or training in one (or any) of the following:
    • Amazon Web Services Developer (AWS Developer)
    • Certified Authorization Professional (CAP)
    • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP CE)
    •  Cisco Certified Network Professional - Security (CCNP Security)
    • Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK)
    • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
    • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
    • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
    •  Certified Information Systems Security Manager (CISM)
    •  Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • CompTIA Cyber Security Analyst (CySA+)
    •  Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED)
    •  Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
    • Security Leadership (GSLC)
