What We Need:
Continued growth has created the need for a highly organized and seasoned Staff Accountant. As our Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for performing general bookkeeping and tax services by maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers for a book of clients. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a public accounting firm or at a company engaging multiple clients is a must. The ideal candidate will be a self-disciplined team player with a strong work ethic and excellent judgment. This candidate should also have the ability to approach tasks in a systematic, efficient nature and to thrive in a highly independent and predictable environment.
What You’ll Do:
· Prepare consolidated financial statements
· Prepare general journal entries, including year-end close, and perform monthly bank reconciliations
· Reconcile tax accounts and review general ledgers by regularly maintaining clients’ records and files
· Prepare annual corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns – federal and state
· Research and answer financial accounting and tax questions for a book of clients
· Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions, as needed
· Assist with the preparation of bi-annual tax projections and client meetings, as needed
· Prepare documentation for external parties, as needed
· Support senior accounting and CPA staff on various projects, as needed
· Respond to and/or delegate all client emails and calls in a timely manner
What You’ll Need:
· Full-time: 40 hours per week
· Tax season hours: estimated 45-55 hours per week
· Billable hours: between 1500-1800 hours per year
· Ability to meet deadlines and solve problems
· Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Analytical and organizational skills with detail orientation
· Knowledge of sales and use tax returns, personal property tax returns, fixed asset and depreciation schedules, and 1099s is a plus
· Knowledge of tax software (Ultra Tax preferred), QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office
· Knowledge of CS Professional Suite preferred, not required
· BA in Accounting or MA in Taxation preferred, not required

o After 5 full years of continuous service: Eligible for up to 28.5 PTO days credited per year
