Overview


As Account Manager for Independent Explosives, the individual in this position will be responsible for supporting the sales strategy in the IEX Business. This position will involve day to day responsibilities within a multiple-state territory in the Northeast United States. All candidates in the northeast US will be considered. Activities will include maintaining a current and active book of business, with accounts including underground mines of various type geology, dimensional and aggregate quarry operations, construction blasting, and various other retail lines of business as deemed necessary by leadership.


Responsibilities

Position impacts the stability and growth of a profitable revenue stream in line with tactical growth objectives. Therefore, integrity and credibility are essential both inside and outside of the Company.

 

  • Support and maintain established company safety policies and procedures.
  • Work to support the business plan revenue objectives primarily for the IEX business.
  • Support growth of territory through active prospecting for new business and cultivation of new and prospective client relationships.
  • Assist in the development and execution of the support of the Retail channel in harmony with the distribution operations of the Company.
  • Maintain current customer base through a call system to identify opportunities and resolve issues.
  • Support the competitive pricing file in concert with the Divisional President.
  • Stay in tune with competitive developments and communicate opportunities for bidding or new areas of services the Company can benefit from offering.
  • Set up and manage various customer training activities throughout assigned territory.
  • Maintain close relationship with technical personnel, utilizing this connection as customer demands dictate.
  • Maintain cooperative relationships with corporate divisional and department teams to enhance efficient and effective customer service, invoicing, A/R, and operations.
  • Contribute to strategic discussions regarding the development of Retail business plans.
  • Travel overnight as necessary.

  • Participate in monthly operations meetings as necessary
  • Participate weekly sales and/or operations meetings.
  • Support other meetings as requested by the Divisional President

Qualifications
  • A strong knowledge of drilling and blasting service operations in both the construction and quarry environments.
  • Technical/Business education degree or equivalent industry experience preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience with an understanding of technical applications
  • Active membership in industry trade organization (ISEE) and other relevant networking organizations
  • Solid knowledge of distribution operations and proven sales experience
  • Ability to work independently to achieve the team’s growth strategy and goals.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills required
  • Proficient computer skills and fluency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
