Companion Hospice has an immediate Full-Time opening for a Director of Patient Care Services/Administrator. The Director of Patient Care Services/Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Hospice Program and accountable for the planning, implementation, direction and overall management of the total Hospice Program. Insures delivery of highest quality of care and services through the agency. 




Healthcare Director of Patient Care Services




 

General Duties:


  • Organizes and directs the hospice's ongoing functions by effectively demonstrating knowledge of and adherence to state regulations regarding hospice agency operations
  • Planning for hospice program development; Organizing, implementing, directing and evaluating program effectiveness and making changes as necessary
  • Ultimately responsible for the development and implementation of the Infection Control Program
  • Ensuring that qualified supervision is available during hours of operation and budgeting of adequate resources to ensure a system of staff communications
  • Maintaining written service agreements, including financial arrangements, with other approved providers for appropriate services necessary to meet the need of patients
  • Ensuring an appropriate patient health care record system, the collection of patient statistics and compliance with state reporting requirements
  • Oversees the quality assurance system ensuring the hospice meets or exceeds the requirements of state regulations, and monitoring the evaluation of comprehensive care of patients through the quality assurance process
  • Implementation of the corporate compliance program according to state regulations.
  • Correction of any deficiencies reported by site visits in a timely manner and implementation of measures to minimize risk of adverse events
  • Actively participates in process improvement activities
  • Ensures staff education and evaluation by initiating an in-service program consistent with the needs of staff and patients
  • Provides procedures and a system of staff communications that ensures coordinated implementation of plans of treatment and the utilization of necessary services for comprehensive care of patients by demonstrating knowledge of and adherence to requirements of regulatory bodies


 


Healthcare Director of Patient Care Services



 Qualifications:

  1. Three to five years' experience in health care management. 
  2. Bachelor's degree in business administration, master's degree in health care or related field preferred.
  3. Demonstrates ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.
  4. Knowledge of corporate business management.
  5. Understands hospice care and services provided to patient and family/caregiver through an interdisciplinary group.
  6. Intimate knowledge of Medicare Hospice Certification. 
  7. Current RN License
