The Clinical Coordinator (OR Charge) coordinates and delegates in the delivery of Surgical Services nursing care, utilizing the Nursing process, Shriners Hospitals for Children (SHC) Standards of Nursing Practice and Patient Care, and hospital and department policies and procedures. Performs the duties of a Charge RN reporting directly OR Director. Works in a leadership role by assisting with staffing, scheduling, patient flow, unit management, performance improvement opportunities, projects, education and handles day-to-day family or patient issues as they arise. Incumbent is well versed in clinical knowledge of Surgical Services, demonstrates clear and professional communication, works as a collaborative teammate and leader who takes the initiative to successfully address problems and improve departmental efficiencies.
- BSN, preferred; required within 5 years of hire
- 5 years of clinical nursing experience, required
- 3 years orthopedic operating room experience, preferred
- Valid RN license in state of PA
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, required
- Demonstrated preparation for leadership
- Knowledge of supervision of PACU desirable
