The role of the Import Supervisor is to assist in the processing and handling of air and ocean import shipments for our customers, ensuring the highest quality standards and providing service solutions meeting or exceeding our customer’s requirements. 

 

Responsibilities & Duties:   

  • Oversee and supervise the activities of the department in order to ensure the needs of our customers are met while complying with established SOP’s. 
  • Manage and develop efficient and effective flow of work to attain optimum efficiency and productivity of department. 
  • Manage documentation to ensure the file contains necessary documents copies in proper sequence. 
  • Resolve problems and follow up with appropriate personnel 
  • Work with vendors and overseas offices to maintain accurate accounting 
  • Work with Sales on account implementation, ensuring a smooth transition from Sales to Operations 
  • Directly and/or indirectly supervise employees
  • Other duties as requested 

Education & Experience: 

  • High School diploma or GED required 
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum 4 years experience in imports or combination of education and expertise required 
  • Minimum 2 years experience supervising and developing staff 
  • Strong knowledge of Import Compliance Regulations
