Purpose
A Nursing Supervisor under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, is responsible for the delivery of nursing care in accordance with Gerontological Standards of Nursing Practice, state and federal long term care regulations and other regulatory agencies. The Nursing Supervisor assumes leadership and responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating and implementing resident focused care and services in the nursing unit. The Nursing Supervisor works collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary team. The Nursing Supervisor acts as a resource for staff. The Nursing Supervisor is designated and authorized to act in the absence of the Director of Nursing.

This is a part-time position the shift is every other weekend 3p – 11:30p.


Resident Care Functions :

  • Performs detailed physical examination of residents on admission and focused examinations based on residents’ health problems and clinical presentation.
  • Assesses each resident for physical, psychological, cognitive, social and spiritual needs. Plans and implements interventions to meet these needs.
  • Assists the interdisciplinary team in planning resident care and developing a written plan of care.
  • Reviews laboratory and other diagnostic study results. Reports abnormal findings to the physician.
  • Assesses residents for pain and assures that the resident’s pain is managed proactively and effectively. Recognizes health problems and treatments that may cause pain and directs staff to administer pharmacologic and complementary interventions to prevent discomfort.
  • Observes and reports changes in clinical symptoms and conditions of the resident to the attending physician.
  • Exercises prudent nursing judgment in determining the need for medication and/or medical care.
  • Plans and implements care of residents with multiple and complex nursing problems.
  • Admits, transfers and discharges residents in accordance with facility policy.
  • Completes initial and ongoing nursing assessments needed to identify resident problems and plan appropriate care.
  • Performs resident/family education regarding health problems and management.
  • Demonstrates and assures staff use appropriate infection control practices when providing resident care.

Qualifications

  • Must be licensed in the state of PA as a Registered Nurse
  • At least 2-3 years of experience, experience in long-term care preferred
  • Able to provide patient centered care
  • Demonstrate a passion for working with the older adults

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

  • Deliver nursing care to patients
