A Senior Audit Associate is responsible to perform assigned responsibilities on engagements. The role will require detailed planning and management of engagements for preliminary review of work papers. The individual is accountable for knowing detailed planning and management of engagements for preliminary review of work paper. Develops an understanding and knowing of the Firm’s service approach, professional requirements and lines of business. As ability to assume greater levels of responsibility is demonstrated, more complex technical areas may be assigned. The firm expects the incumbent to be actively invested in continuing professional education and personnel development.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

A Senior Audit Associate will be expected to perform any of the following tasks:

 Manage engagements in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.

 Develop a good understanding of the following audit areas: planning memo, planning and final analytical (documentation), audit planning form, representation letters, management letters, cash flow worksheets and drafting financial statements.

 Ensures that work is error free.

 Maintain accurate records and descriptions of work performed for billable and non-billable time.

 Elicits client feedback and shares with staff.

 Effectively works through roadblocks and barriers to get results.

 Resolves technical issues and problems.

 Prepares or reviews financial statements, notes, schedules, and management letters.

 Drafts complete management and other summary financial reports for review by manager/director.

 Supervise work on all assigned engagements.

 Knowledge of risk-based auditing.

 Monitor and on occasion, prepare, budgets for engagements.

 Continue to develop long-term professional relationships with clients through exceptional client service.

 Identify and solve issues.

 Train and develop new staff.

 Perform other assigned duties, as assigned.


COMPETENCIES

 Know federal and state tax laws.

 Knowledge of risk-based auditing.

 Knowledge of Prosystem fx, Windows, Word, Excel, Engagement, QuickBooks, and any other software deemed necessary to provide work papers, working trial balances, and related spreadsheets to support tax returns and tax consulting and planning.

 Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and auditing standards.

 Identifies key business issues, analyzing the effects of actions and consequences.

 Willingly incorporates new processes, procedures, or technology into daily routine.

 Continue to improve and develop effective interpersonal, and oral communication skills.

 Writes concisely and persuasively.

 Quickly grasps new concepts and ideas

 Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

 A Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university is required.

 Working towards a Master’s degree and CPA certification preferred.

 Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a semi-senior accountant/auditor (or equivalent) with a public CPA firm or a private company.
