This position requires significant experience in electric utility transmission and distribution (T&D) line systems engineering and design.
Specifically, we are looking for a Transmission Line Engineer to provide outstanding technical leadership to our team, engaged in transmission and distribution system design for major utility clients.
Performs all aspects of design for high voltage and EHV Overhead Transmission line projects including line routing, structure knowledge, and line analysis.
Knowledge of insulator and hardware selection, conductor wire selection, and technical support for the customer.
Keenly focused on the production of high-quality work and supports continuous improvement efforts.
Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects.
Provide review and feedback to lower-level engineering work or assignments and serves as the responsible charge for a project.
Actively coordinates with internal and external team members on transmission line projects for the world’s top electric utilities.
Responsible for assisting with the identification of key client interests and drivers and may determine the key clients in some instances. Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work.
Provides support to business development or pursuit activities. Serves as an overhead transmission line design technical specialist and has knowledge and skill set to provide consultation and guidance to project teams. Assists with performance management process, mentoring, recognition, and any corrective actions required.
Lead and/or prepare the development of engineering evaluations for project work, including the development of feasibility and conceptual studies and project scope definition.
Support Commercial, Marketing, and Business Development team
Master Engineering degree (Electrical preferred), or Bachelor degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in T&D.
Knowledge of common engineering application software, particularly tools such as PLS-CAD, SAG10, and ETAP, and knowledge and understanding of engineering standards such as NESC, IEEE, and ANSI that apply to transmission design.
The position requires experience in actual hands-on design work, experience in preparing cost-effective designs, knowledge, and understanding of transmission engineering, including conductor selection, structure determination, plan and profile development, material takeoffs, etc.
Demonstrated leadership experience in a technical group.
Effective communications and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop and monitor a schedule to support engineering deliverables to support project development and support of the Business Development group.
