Diesel Mechanic
Berry It is an Underground Utility Company looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to work in their Indianapolis location. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience. This individual must have his own toolbox and tools. Berry It does provide tools as well. We would also like for this candidate to be familiar with inspections of vehicles and preventive maintenance procedures along with State and Federal vehicle requirements. This candidate should be able to work well within a team, but experienced enough to operate independently on repairs of heavy equipment and trucks.
Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Running diagnostic tests on vehicles.
- Analyzing diagnostic test results.
- Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems.
- Must be able to identify worn and damaged parts.
- Must be familiar with winterization procedures.
- Checking vehicle lighting systems.
- Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.
- Performing preventative maintenance on service trucks.
- Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles.
- Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.
This position requires a Class A CDL driver's license or be able to obtain one within 90 days of hire date.
